Google Ads FCA Verification Terms & Conditions

This coming September, Google is bringing in new Google Ads rules regarding Financial Services ads to help reduce fraud and scams.

What This Means For You – In order to show financial services ads of any kind in the UK advertisers need to be verified by Google and must demonstrate that they are authorized by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (UK FCA). This requirement covers financial services regulated by and not regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority.

What Does This Include – This verification is required for all Google Ads, ad formats and extensions.

What Happens If This Is Ignored – Google is implementing a strike policy from 21st September and those found breaching it will have their Google Ads account suspended.

How This Affects You – If you are currently using Google Ads to generate new leads you will no longer be able to. This also applies if you are getting your leads from a 3rd party source/agency as they won’t be UK Financial Conduct Authority (UK FCA) certified and will have to stop their Google Ads.

Help! What Can I Do – You can come under our UK Financial Conduct Authority (UK FCA) certification but your 3rd party source/agency cannot.

What Do We Need From You – We need the domain name of your website and your Google Ads ID number.

Ad Checks – We will add your Google Ads ID to our MCC (My Client Center) account and will periodically check that the domain name in your ads matches the one which you have provided us with. If it doesn’t match then we will inform you and will need you to update or remove it within 24 hours to remain under our UK Financial Conduct Authority (UK FCA) certification.

Adding You To Our MCC – We will add you to our MCC (My Client Center) account and will need you to allow us access by clicking on the link in the email you receive from Google Ads allowing us access. If we cannot add your Google Ads account and can’t check your ads then unfortunately we can’t add you to our UK FCA) UK Financial Conduct Authority (UK FCA) certification and your Google Ads won’t be able to run.

Ad Landing Pages – We will only accept landing pages which are on the domain name which you have provided us with. Therefore we cannot accept landing pages built on 3rd party builders e.g. Clickfunnels, Unbounce etc.

Deadline – The deadline for you to send us your domain name and Google ID is Wednesday 11th August 2021.
