The mortgage market faces many challenges in both residential and buy-to-let. Whether it’s the challenge of rising mortgage rates, cost of living, ICR stress calculations for landlords, or the forward planning for the revised Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards.

Despite these many challenges, green shoots are sprouting. Residential mortgage opportunities continue with innovation in supporting the complex borrower, the self-employed, credit impaired, or enhanced multiples for certain occupations. We also see growth in rental demand and sales activity in the buy-to-let space.
